What can you expect?

It is understandable and proper for you to want to know what to expect at the church you plan to attend. Our worship is purposefully designed for the whole family as we believe God intended it to be. Jesus Christ blessed children and encouraged their presence among adults, even correcting his disciples for attempting to send them away. Children will see the public worship of their parents, their reverence for God, and the way they respond to the word of God.  Families can discuss the messages they heard and songs they sang together. They hear and see prayers of adults and learn. Luke 18:15-17; Ephesians 6:1-4 KJV

You will notice from the above references that at Bohon Road Baptist Church we use the King James Version of the Bible. We do this for sound scriptural, textual, and historical reasons. Besides this we want you to be able to follow along as we read without confusion. For this reason, we encourage our people to bring a KJV Bible to church. If for some reason you do not have one, we provide them in the pews for your convenience.

The singing at Bohon Road Baptist Church is congregational from a hymn book. This is not just to be “old fashioned”. Although we are not afraid of that, the main reason is that singing in the church is not for entertainment (appeal to the flesh), but is primarily to be for mutual, spiritual building one another up in the faith and encouraging one another by the message of the songs. We enjoy singing together and special music that aids our worship of God and will be a spiritual blessing to you and your family.

If God so leads you to visit with us, we would love to be used of God to be a help you
